Imo reward four Eaglets each with N1m, land, scholarship


The Imo State government yesterday doled out the sum of N1m to each of the four Golden Eaglets players from the State with landed property at the choice area of Owerri while the Assistant Coach, Emmanuel Amunike received N2m with a plot of land.  
The players and assistant coach include Uzoho Odinaka, Kelechi Iheanacho, Nwakali Chidiebere, Eze Chidera, and Assistant Coach Emmanuel Amunike.
Governor Rochas Okorocha announced the rewards yesterday during a reception for the players by Imo State government at the Government House Owerri.
The bid is to encourage sportsmanship and hard work of the Imo indigenes that played with the team that won the U-17 2013 World Cup at the United Arab Emirate recently.
The Governor described them as true Imo Ambassadors for making the State proud among the nations of the world.
Besides the N2 million cash donation of 2million Naira to the Assistant Coach, Emmanuel Amuneke, the governor also announced a reward of One million Naira to Kelechi Iheanacho, Chidiebere Nwakali, Chidera Eze and Odinaka Uzoho.
He also announced the donation of parcel of land to each of them at choice area in the State capital as well as scholarship award to the university level.
