An Abuja High Court on Wednesday rejected an ex-parte motion brought by the suspended Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, Lamido Sanusi. Mr. Sanusi asked the court to set aside his suspension from office.
Mr. Sanusi was suspended by President Goodluck Jonathan last Thursday over alleged financial recklessness and official misconduct.
He filed the suit on Monday to challenge his suspension. He had not only asked for reinstatement, but also an order of interlocutory injunction restraining the president, the Attorney General of the Federation and the Inspector General of Police from stopping him from performing his duties as CBN Governor.

He blamed the boy for his bad luck
In one of the most cruel child abuse cases reported, a Nigerian allegedly padlocked his four-year-old son’s mouth, while he battered him to death.

The 30-year-old man believed that the boy was a ‘child of evil’, and blamed him for his bad luck, according to a report in MailOnline.

He allegedly used a hot iron over his body and then locked him in a plastic drum.

Meanwhile, the man attempted to pretend he was mentally ill at the time of his arrest. But authorities claim his condition was normal, the report added quoting International Business Times.

He is charged with murder.

The incident came to light when the child’s mother returned home from the market and saw her son dead.
