An anonymous tipster has confided in SaharaReporters that Festus Iyayi, a former president of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), was actually shot by policemen in the convoy of the Kogi State Governor, Captain Idris Wada, prior to the road accident in which he supposedly died last week.

Outrage has greeted the killing, yesterday, of former President of the Academic Staff Union of University, ASUU, Professor Festus Iyayi, by a car in the convoy of the Kogi State Governor, Idris Wada, with many slamming the governor over his drivers’ recklessness.

Following the sudden death of its former president, Professor Festus Iyayi, who died yesterday afternoon in a fatal auto crash that occurred in Lokoja while travelling to Kano for the Union's Executive meeting slated for today Wednesday 13th of November 2013 in which the decision to call off or continue the four months old strike embarked upon by the University lecturers is expected to be made, the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has hereby postponed its today's decider meeting to a later date.
