Mu’azu: PDP will compensate loyal members
National chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Ahmadu Adamu Mu’azu has assured loyal members of the party that they would be compensated for their efforts.
Mu’azu gave the assurance yesterday when a group, the Goodluck Support Group (GSG)Elders Council led by former Deputy Senate President Ibrahim Mantu paid him a courtesy visit at the party’s national secretariat.
Mu’azu, who was responding to Mantu’s observation that loyal members of the party have not be adequately compensated for their efforts since the formation of the party in 1998, said the PDP will work on that as well as provide a level playing ground to all members of the party.
The PDP national chairman urged all PDP support groups not to stay in Abuja, but to embark on grassroots mobilisation for the party ahead of the forthcoming 2015 general elections.
He assured that due consultation will be carried out before taking any decision is taken, so that members would be carried along.
Earlier, Mantu had commended Mu’azu for his stand against bribery, adding that such position would bring sanity to the party and the society at large.
He urged the party National Chairman to constitute a reconciliation committee to bring all aggrieved members back to PDP.
Mantu called on Mu’azu to commence e-registration to know the total number of PDP members and the strength of the party in each state of the federation.
National coordinator of the group and special adviser to President Goodluck Jonathan on Political Matters, Ahmed Gulak called on the opposition parties to appreciate what the President has done in the past two and half years saying the group will showcase the achievements of the President for all Nigerians to see.
