CSOs Ask Jonathan to Sack Okonjo-Iweala, Madueke, Yakubu

Forty three civil society organisations met in Abuja Tuesday under the auspice of the Civil Society Situation Room and called on the President  Goodluck Jonathan to immediately  remove from office the Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, the Minister of Petroleum,  ‎Diezani Alison Madueke and the Group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, (NNPC), Andrew Yakubu.

In a communique issued at the end of their meeting, the Situation Room also called on the National Assembly to convene an independent judicial commission ‎of inquiry to investigate allegations that USD 20 Billion had been stolen from public revenues at the NNPC.

"Situation Room notes that 20 billion dollars would make a huge and significant difference to the lives and living conditions of the ordinary Nigerians and significant impact on collapsed infrastructure, generate new jobs and revive industries and indeed address several problems confronting the country," the communique stated.
