President Jonathan falls ill in London

President Goodluck Jonathan, in the course of his on-going visit to London for a meeting of Nigeria’s Honorary International Investors’ Council, became indisposed and could not be present at the opening of the meeting today.

Presidential spokesman Reuben Abati, who  disclosed this in a statement today, said the president had since
been examined by competent medical practitioners.The presidential aide added that his boss had also been advised to rest for a few days.

According to Abati, the Presidency wishes to assure all Nigerians that Jonathan’s condition is nothing serious and that the medical attention he has sought is only precautionary.

In recent days he was forced to delay presenting the annual budget to the national assembly indefinitely due to disagreements between the executive and legislators
